| This ongoing project is based on August Sander’s publication People of the 20th Century. The subjects featured in the images are HO Scale figures made by Preiser, a German manufacturer of model trains. Curiously, the figures are packaged and labeled largely using the same general categorizations employed by Sander (women, the city, agriculture, skilled labor, professions, etc) and reflect a miniature world with views onto occupations, archetypes and stereotypes of the 21st Century and the problematic nature of typologies and archives. | |
